Details
A substantial early studio pottery pitcher by Don Friel, signed and dated 1979. Friel began his career at Wheaton Village as a potter in the late 1970s before transitioning to the studio glasswork for which he became known.
Hand-thrown stoneware with an undulating rim, pulled handle and expressive vertical glazing in earthy olive, ochre and deep brown over exposed clay. A particularly handsome example from Friel’s early pottery period.
Signed Don Friel ’79 on the underside.
