An intriguing antique English Sterling phonograph cylinder record container dating to the Edwardian era, circa 1904–1908. Featuring its original decorative paper label in pale blue, black, and gold, the cylindrical cardboard case bears the elegant Sterling Record lettering and distinctive period typography.

An additional handwritten paper label from John Martin's music shop on Leith Walk in Pilrig, Edinburgh, adds a wonderful sense of history, recording the title and details of the music once housed inside. The original fitted lid remains in place, bearing the record number 984.

Originally designed to protect an early wax cylinder recording, this charming piece offers a fascinating glimpse into the earliest days of recorded music. A wonderful addition to a collection of antique musical memorabilia, vintage advertising, or Edwardian curiosities.

The container displays wear consistent with age, including discoloration, surface marks, and wear to the paper labels and lid. Sold as an empty container; no phonograph cylinder is included.
