A beautiful 19th-century French Louis Philippe mirror with a softly rounded rectangular form and classic molded frame. The aged gilt and gesso surface has wonderful patina, with natural rubbing, cracking and areas of loss that reveal the darker ground beneath.
The antique mirror plate has lovely foxing and age throughout, giving the piece an especially authentic, timeworn character.
Condition is consistent with age, including wear and losses to the gilt and gesso and foxing to the mirror.
