Antique English Paisley Chintz Biscuit Barrel with Silver Plate Lid

An antique biscuit barrel by James Kent of Fenton, England, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The rounded ceramic form is decorated in the Paisley Chintz pattern, featuring dense floral and scrolling motifs in a richly colored palette influenced by the Aesthetic Movement. Finished with its original silver plate lid and swing handle, stamped Abra Plate EPNS, this piece has beautiful weight, contrast, and age.

Stamped to the base with the James Kent Fenton globe mark. A striking decorative object for a shelf or sideboard, or used as a lidded vessel for storage or display.
