Antique Persian Wool Mat

This antique Persian saddlebag panel is a beautifully worn example of traditional tribal weaving. Originally part of a double khorjin used for transport on horseback, the piece features bold geometric motifs woven in deep indigo, madder red, soft camel, and muted green wool.

The front showcases intricate tribal patterning, while the reverse is flatwoven in a complementary geometric design, highlighting the utilitarian craftsmanship of nomadic Persian weavers. Visible wear, softened edges, and loose yarns on the back reflect its original use and age, adding rich character and authenticity.
