Augustus Osborne Lamplough Nile & Camels Watercolor
Details
An original watercolor by British artist Augustus Osborne Lamplough (1877–1930), depicting a luminous Egyptian landscape along the Nile.
The panoramic scene features figures and camels traveling along the riverbank with an ancient temple rising softly in the distance. Lamplough’s restrained palette of sand, pale blue and warm blush tones gives the landscape its distinctive atmospheric quality.
Signed by the artist and presented under glass in an aged gilt frame with decorative relief detailing. An old newspaper obituary for Augustus Osborne Lamplough remains preserved on the reverse—a wonderful piece of history that has accompanied the painting over time.
Beautiful age and patina throughout the original presentation, with condition consistent with age.
