Madeleine is a soft, muted gold that elegantly serves the space between a gentle yellow and a warm-neutral. Its name comes from the delicate shell-shaped sponge cakes loved by French writer Marcel Proust as a young boy and was later immortalized in his monumental literary work, 'In Search of Lost Time.' Today, “madeleine de Proust” has subsequently become an informal term for a childhood memory triggered by the senses.
