State Express Cigarettes Brass Cigarette Box – Made in England *as found

A handsome vintage English brass cigarette box featuring the historic State Express Cigarettes emblem engraved on the underside. With its warm golden finish, gently beveled edges, and beautifully aged patina, this piece is a charming example of traditional British smoking accessories.

The State Express name is associated with the historic State Express 555 cigarette brand, established in Britain in the late 19th century. The decorative emblem on the base features a detailed heraldic-style design surrounded by an oval border, adding an interesting piece of British advertising history.

The brass lid lifts away to reveal a simple wooden interior, originally intended for storing cigarettes. Its rectangular shape and understated design make it equally suitable today for holding letters, keepsakes, jewelry, or other small treasures.

The piece displays visible surface wear, scratches, tarnishing, and patina consistent with age and use. Please note that the original hinge is broken, leaving the lid completely detached from the base. The lid is included and can be placed on top for decorative display.

A distinctive accessory for an English country home, gentleman's study, writing desk, or collection of vintage British advertising memorabilia.
